Born and raised in Charleston, John graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from the University of the South, Sewanee and an M.B.A. from the Darla Moore School of Business at USC.
A lifelong sailor, John began his career on the oil field supply vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and later worked in various managerial roles for Tidewater Inc. in South America and West Africa.
John and his wife Caroline live in West Ashley.
